Role of the Mayor

The Mayor serves as the chief official of the City and provides leadership in setting the vision and direction for the community. The Mayor presides over City Council meetings, helps guide policy decisions, and works collaboratively with council members, staff, and regional partners to address the needs of the City.

The Mayor represents the City in official functions, promotes, economic development, and advocates for resouces and infrastructure improvements. This role also emphasizes transparency, accountability, and open communication with residents.

Through leadership and community engagement, the Mayor helps ensure that city services are delivered effectively and that the City continues to grow in a responsible and sustainable manner.

City staff play a vital role in serving you-from maintaining accurate records and supporting financial accountability to assisting residents with day-to-day needs. We are proud of the work being done to strengthen our operations and improve service delivery across all departments.
